When do balloons fly in Pushkar?
Hot air balloon flights in Pushkar are most closely associated with the Pushkar Camel Fair in November, when licensed operators run sunrise and sometimes late-afternoon flights over the fairground and dunes. Flights are entirely dependent on wind and weather and can be cancelled at short notice for safety.
How to book a balloon ride
Balloon flights are run by specialist, licensed operators, not by the camp. Book directly with an established operator well in advance of the fair, check their safety record, and ask what happens if your flight is cancelled due to weather.
We are happy to share local information when you stay with us, but we do not sell or operate balloon flights.
Tips for your flight
Make your balloon safari safe and comfortable:
- Expect a very early start for sunrise flights
- Wear layers: it is cold before dawn and warms up quickly
- Wear closed, flat shoes and a cap
- Follow the pilot’s safety briefing exactly
- Keep a free morning in reserve in case your flight is rescheduled
Make it a fair-week stay
Pair your balloon flight with a camel safari, a day at the mela and a night at our desert camp. Read the Pushkar Fair programme to plan your days.
