About Savitri Mata Temple

According to legend, Savitri was angered when Brahma performed his great ritual at Pushkar without her, and she withdrew to this hilltop. The temple honouring her is one of the most visited in Pushkar, and many pilgrims visit it after the Brahma Temple.

Taking the ropeway

A cable car (ropeway) runs from the base of Ratnagiri hill to the top, making the temple accessible for families, older visitors and anyone short on time. The ride itself offers great views over the town and the surrounding hills.

Ropeway tickets and operating hours change with the season and weather, so please check at the base station on the day of your visit.

Walking up instead

The stepped path up the hill is steep, so allow time and carry water. Many visitors climb before sunrise to avoid the heat and enjoy the first light over Pushkar. Monkeys are common near the top, so keep food out of sight.

Best time to visit

Sunrise and sunset are the most popular times for photographs. In summer, avoid the middle of the day. Combine your visit with a sunset camel safari or an evening at our desert camp.
